Intent

The Opportunity High School Diploma Grant (OHSD Grant) is established to fund institutions that have been selected to offer the Opportunity High School Diploma (OHSD) program. Funding will be used to support recruitment, onboarding, and program delivery mechanisms in order to allow students to complete the program. The funding will also allow institutions to collaborate with one another to develop assessments that will measure mastery of each of the five core program competencies.

Eligibility

Public junior colleges in the State of Texas as defined in Texas Education Code, §61.003(2).

How to Apply

Application Coming Soon.

Application Information

The OHSD Grant is not a competitive grant program; an application will be shared with institutions selected to offer the OHSD program.

Applications selected must detail usage of funds to implement a defined program model that will provide an alternative means by which adult students enrolled in a career and technical education program at a public junior college can earn a high school diploma through concurrent enrollment in a competency-based education program. Successful applicants will also plan for the development of core competency assessments intended to measure competency mastery.

Impact

Fiscal Year 2025 is the first cycle offered of this new grant program.
