Intent
The Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship Program supports the development or expansion, and administration of accredited forensic psychiatry one-year fellowship training programs at health-related institutions in Texas.
Eligibility
Only accredited psychiatry training programs at health-related institutions are eligible to apply. The grant requires having available forensic rotations for all fellows and should follow the ACGME program requirements for graduate medical education in Forensic Psychiatry. Grantees are encouraged to collaborate with other funded institutions on the development of didactic and other educational experiences.

Application Information
The Grant Period will begin upon the execution of the Notice of Grant Award (NOGA) and will conclude on August 31, 2025, for a two-year grant period.
The $5 million in total competitive grant funding is available for two years to support the salaries and benefits associated with the implementation of the training program, in addition to other resources that are used to develop and maintain the program. No individual applicant may receive more than $650,000 of funding during the biennium or have more than two fellows per year.

The Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship Program was established by THECB Rider 57, page III-68, Article III, of House Bill 1, 88th Legislature, Regular Session (2023).
