ApplyTexas Advisory Committee
Overview
The ApplyTexas Advisory Committee (ATAC) discusses and votes on proposed changes to the ApplyTexas application for the upcoming application cycle. The committee also works on additional initiatives to strengthen student participation and access into higher education, including:
- Apply Texas System – a centralized web portal for prospective students from Texas and other states to apply for admission to Texas higher education institutions. The purpose of the program is to allow students to complete one application and submit it to multiple institutions of higher education.
- Counselor Suite – ApplyTexas portal that provides authorized high school counselors access to data on their students’ progress in completing admission applications, and applying for financial aid.
- TREx – an interface which enables participating high schools to electronically submit transcripts to participating colleges.
Current Status
The ATAC is a standing, statutory committee and its purpose is outlined in the Texas Education Code and the Texas Administrative Code.
