Texas Completion Repayment Grant Program
Program Purpose
The Texas Completion Repayment Grant Program is part of the $94.6 million fund established to provide essential emergency support to postsecondary students who have been most significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. This program continues the ongoing expansion and scaling of supports for Texas students who have some college credit but no credential (SCNC), as well as current students who had or will have their postsecondary education disrupted by the current health pandemic.
This Request for Applications is for eligible applicants that will utilize GEER-funded Completion Grants to clear institutional-level outstanding student balances, such as accumulated fees, institutional-level financial holds, or other related arrears of up to $1,000 per eligible student. Funds are used by institutions:
- As a recruiting tool to incentivize students with some college, no credential to return to postsecondary education and complete their certificate or degree programs,
- As a means to allow students who seek to return to higher education access to transcripts so that reenrollment is possible, and
- To support the retention and persistence of enrolled students to meet their academic goals and complete certificate and degree programs.
